Depeche Mode’s ‘Violation’ Tour To Be Released On CD/DVD
That is at least what a few sources told us lately and since several of those correspondents provided us with correct info over the past years (including the DM back catalogue story, months before it was confirmed by the label), we decided to run the story today.
In a nutshell, Mute/EMI would be considering to release a Depeche Mode packet holding at least a live recording of the famous ‘Violation’ tour. We say ‘at least a live recording’ because there would be problems releasing a DVD of the tour due to the insufficient quality of the available footage. However this problem might be overcome by ‘remixing’ the complete video footage so that the final result would be worthwhile after all.
At this point it is all very premature and everything would depend on whether Dave Gahan and Martin Lee Gore plan to release yet another solo record or not. More details as we get them in. For now, let it be a wet dream, but apparently one that could well happen. Right now there is still enough ‘new’ Depeche Mode material being released to spend some hard earned green ones on. Out by March 26 for instance will be the remastered editions of the cult albums ‘Black Celebration’ and ‘Construction Time Again’. Just like the previous albums they come in a CD/DVD version featuring a documentary and 5.1 surround mixes.
