Depeche Mode Inducted To Playboy Magazine’s Hall Of Fame
Depeche Mode have been inducted to Playboy’s Hall of Fame in the magazine’s annual music poll, while jazz great Branford Marsalis and Red Hot Chili Peppers won the readers’ votes. Marsalis claimed the Jazz Artist of The Year and his quartet picked up the magazine’s Best Jazz Album for Braggtown. The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium was named Best Rock Album. Busta Rhymes’ The Big Bang picked up the Best Hip-Hop Album, Dixie Chicks claimed the Best Country Album prize and Radiohead star Thom Yorke’s The Eraser was named the Best Electronic Album. Meanwhile Jack Johnson claimed the Best Soundtrack honor for his Curious George album and Jewish rapper Matisyahu’s Youth was named Best World Music Album. Other winners in the Playboy poll included Pearl Jam (Best Live Act), Gnarls Barkley (Best Song – Crazy) and Panic! At The Disco (Best New Artist).
