Depeche Mode Among The 2017 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees
Depeche Mode makes the list of 2017 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The nominees where revealed this morning by 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve Van Zandt and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation CEO Joel Peresman live on SiriusXM’s new all music talk channel Volume, during the ‘Feedback’ morning show.
Ballots will soon be sent out to an international voting body of more than 800 artists, historians and members of the music industry, who will narrow the list down to the final five inductees based on a variety of factors, including an artist’s “musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique.”
Fans can participate in the selection process beginning on Tuesday, October 18 by visiting rockhall.com to vote. The top five artists on the fans ballot will be counted along with the other ballots to help choose the 2017 nominees. Voting will be open through December 5, with one ballot per day. The final list of inductees will be announced in December, with the ceremony slated for New York’s Barclay’s Center in April 2017.
