Depeche Mode have been nominated for the ECHO 2010 in the ‘International Rock/Pop Group’ category and they compete against A-Ha, Black Eyed Peas, Razorlight and U2.

Other international artists up for ECHO awards include Bruce Springsteen, David Guetta, Mark Knopfler and Robbie Williams, who are all nominated in the male ‘International Rock/Pop Artist’ category. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston and Pink will be vying for honors in the ‘International Rock/Pop Female’ category.

This year’s ECHO Awards returns to it’s 2007 home of the Berlin Fairground following last year’s event at Berlin’s O2 World Arena, which took place in front of an audience of 10,000 and was criticized for poor organization.

The 2010 awards show will be held on March 4th, 2010 and is produced by Berlin-based production company MME and will be hosted by Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhöve. The advanced sale of about 1,000 tickets for the show starts on 5 February 2010.
