Depeche Mode To Release Live DVD In Early 2010

Depeche Mode is to release a brand new live DVD in early 2010. The news has been confirmed to us by the band’s record label EMI. The DVD/CD, (to be) shot during the band’s current ‘Tour Of The Universe’, will be their 6th live video (and 5th live DVD). No details have been revealed about where the recordings will (or have) take(n) place. The news will not come as a complete surprise to many as Depeche Mode have been issuing live video recordings of every album tour since ‘Songs Of Faith And Devotion’ with the exception of the ‘Ultra’ album.

The only live video that never saw a proper DVD release was ‘The World We Live In and Live in Hamburg’ (1985). It featured almost an entire concert from their 1984 ‘Some Great Reward Tour’, in Hamburg, Germany and was directed by Clive Richardson. The rather naive live shooting was re-released in 1999, still on VHS, in Europe only and in Japan on other formats such as laser-disc.

Those who want to get hold of some early live recordings can always check eBay’s live (bootleg) section for some really rare gems. More info and details on the new live DVD as we get them confirmed. (Photo by DM.com)

One Response to Depeche Mode To Release Live DVD In Early 2010

I think it is unlikely to be early, early 2010. My prediction would be that it will come out some months after the final tour date. I would guess June or July.
